Bravado or courage.

Dear Chee Ian, Darrick, Praveena and Zhe Shuo.

Congratulations for having come to the end of another milestone. :) "Home & Station" is one production (though a very short one) that you will be proud of for a long long time.

In fact, you should be very proud of yourself for being so tenacious, hanging on so tightly to this subject that is so tough and demanding on all of us. Drama is made even harder by the fact that everybody, except ourselves and a small group of like-minded people, think it is frivolous, indulgent and fun. :( 

How tragic and unfortunate.

But you know what? The tougher the going gets, the more effort we need to put in. The more effort we put in, the more we grow. The more we grow the better we get. The better we get the more confident we become.

When I look back at myself twenty years ago, I shudder and then I thank god for putting whatever trials and tribulations that come my way that made me into what I am today.

You might or might not know that my motto: "It can only get better". 

Getting better/improving is a continuous process that requires hard work. 

I work very hard everyday to stay focused, to be aware of my thoughts and actions, to make the right decisions and to do the right things to get better. 

It was really difficult in the beginning but now, the processes are so much a part of me that they kick in automatically. 

Theatre (and in our case Drama) does more than mimic life. It takes one part of life at a time and magnifies it so big to make it so clear for humans can be very stupid sometimes. 

The processes that you take to prepare for your roles are also similar to the ones that I go through to improve my life everyday.

Like me, you have all grown a lot as young people and performers. Like me, you also all have many habits which prevents your performances from being a magnificent one. These habits of ours are very precious and will always be a part of us. Treasure them. :)

It is, however, important that we are aware of these habits and learn to work with them so that we do not become blindly controlled by them. 

To end this really long message, I just want to say that the reason I love the Theatre and the Arts is because of the humanity in them. The reason why I love teaching Drama is because it teaches myself and my students to be human. Therefore, I am sending something that I took twenty years to learn to you. 

See you when school reopens and take care in the mean time. :)

That having the party of your life, with great people and sitting in a darken room can give you the same feelings.

But then again, only 94.77% of statistics are true .

Someone says that I resembles a lot with my mom. Not in terms or looks or opinions but in terms of personality. When I first hear it, I find it unbelievable. We don't see eye to eye with on many issue. Basically we have a love hate relationship.........
